Basic Construction Math

This 8-Hour course is designed to expose participants to the basic math operations that are used as a construction craft laborer. Some of the exercises covered are reading a tape measurer, converting inches to decimal feet, principles of squaring rectangles and squares, and figuring area/volume of shapes to order materials. By the end of the course, participants will have a stronger grasp of math principles that directly support tasks in concrete, asphalt, excavation, grade checking, and general construction.

Training will focus on proper procedures of stopping and releasing traffic on roadways, how to protect yourself, other workers, and the public in work zones through the proper use of signs, signals and barricades. Solar Farm Training

This Solar Farm Training course is composed of both classroom and hands-on training. The course will provide experience related to commercial Solar Farm construction and Solar Panel Installation. Classroom activities include lessons on electrical hazards, PV module, post and racking installation and more. Hands on activities include site prep, layout and setting the posts, racking system and panels.

Signal Person Safety Training (SPST)
1 Day, 07:00AM - 03:30PM
This certification course covers crane dynamics, hand signals, boom deflection, crane operations and limitations. Additional training topics will focus on hazard recognition and apply OSHA’s minimum clearance distance for cranes. Renewal period of four years.

This 5 - Day course will focus on the correct set up and use of the builder’s level for elevation control and transfer of grade. Course will also feature the use of a transit for basic layout. Renewal period of five years.

Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA)
24 Hours, 07:00AM - 03:30PM
A required certification for all Laborers working in a hospital or healthcare environment. Topics will include: setting up and maintaining a negative air environment; removing debris; constructing barriers to prevent the spread of infectious diseases; monitoring the work environment and inspecting, donning and removing personal protection equipment.

Burning
2 Days, 07:00AM - 03:30PM
Training is designed to prepare Laborers for work on demolition projects and general construction sites. Classroom studies include OSHA regulations and safe work practices. During hands-on training, students will learn proper set up, follow correct torch procedures, as well as practice effective cutting techniques. Students will apply these learned skills with various fuels used in the industry, including acetylene and propylene. In addition to oxy-fuel cutting, plasma cutting is also introduced.

Aerial Lift Training

Training focuses on daily inspection, maintenance and safe operation relating to scissor and boom lifts. The majority of the training class time will be devoted to a hands-on environment. Renewal period of 4 years.

Concrete Technology

This course deals with the placement of concrete and the latest concrete technology. Specific topics include excavation, backfill and compaction, placement of concrete, concrete vibration, tool identification, finishing and curing. Hands-on projects will consist of placing slabs on grade, walls, and columns. Renewal period of five years.

This Scaffold Technology training certification will expire in 4 years and participants will need to take the 1-Day Scaffold Refresher to renew their skills/certification.
The 5-Day Scaffold Technology and 1-Day Suspension Course Certificates/Skills will expire every 4 years. Participants will be required to attend this 1-Day Refresher Course every 4 years to maintain their current certificates/skills. There will be a 1-year grace period extended to you to renew your certification.

Training covers the uses of lead, health effects, PPE and abatement and disposal requirements. Hands-on activities include the use of air purifying respirators, construction of containments and decontamination units, as well as simulated removal of lead-based paint. This certificate is valid for three years. Students with an expired certificate for more than 12 months are not elligible for reaccreditation and must retake the initial training course.
Clean shaven is required for Respirator Fit Certification.

OSHA 30-Hour Safety and Health Course

This 5 - Day course encompasses all aspects of the 10-Hour OSHA training course with additional emphasis on safety and health management and additional topics covered in the construction standards. Hazard recognition and elimination will be discussed in detail. Recommended four year renewal period.

Permit-required Confined Space Entry Safety
3 Days, 07:00AM - 03:30PM
This course prepares the individual to work as part of an entry into Permit-Required Confined Space. Training focuses on how to recognize, evaluate and control safety and health hazards associated with PRCS. Topics include Hazard Recognition, Health Effects, PPE, OSHA construction standard for confined spaces, Lock-Out and Tag-Out, Ventilation, monitoring and entry permit program.
