Labor History I presentation will provide an overview of the U.S. Labor movement's triumphs and tragedies throughout history from the late 1800's through 1937. This presentation will help clarify how and why unions were formed, how they function and why they are important to us as Laborers and to society as a whole.
It will be conducted by Robert Bruno, Professor and Director of the Labor Education Program at the University of Illinois or Steven Ashby, Associate Professor of the Labor Education Program at the University of Illinois. This four hour presentation will be conducted four times in November 2019 at the Chicagoland Laborers' Homer Street Training Facility:

An additional presentation, Labor History II, will be scheduled in January 2020. It will begin in the time period of 1937, where Labor History I left off and continue up to the present time.
